Cupcake needs reglazed, walrus got tusks, and broke more stuff ahhhh, and took random pics of me with the in process tree.

Canopy Complete, New Tree Stalk, & Gifts

<div>So I've finished the canopy, it needs a few touchups here and there but otherwise its going very well.  I think im going to decorate it with some torn up pom poms and rhinestones. Super excited. I also threw the stalk/trunk of the next tree i'll be making. Its more losey-gosey than the others but im excited to see how that will play out.<br />

I also took the forms I threw and did some drawings on them. Can't show any closeups just yet because I don't want to ruin the gift. Im anticipating they don't regularly check my blog, but if they do this isn't too much of a spoiler :)<br />

Everything is turning out wonderfully. Everytime I look at the head from a distance I lust laugh because it already has the dumb smug expression the walrus has in the drawing haha. Having so much fun in the studio.<br />

The tree is almost halfway finished. The base of the tree needs one more coat of paint and the canopy for the tree has yet to be made. After I finish the canopy ill begin making the base and embroidering the faces of all the flowers. I also have to start making the walrus(in clay). It should be a big ball of fun. Expect updates throughout the week as I get more done.<br />

Trimming and Decorating

<div><p>Trimmed the vessels I made yesterday. Embeleshed them with a pencil and painted some decorative black marks. After they are bisqued im going to add another layer of underglaze before the final layer of glaze. Just playing around with some new forms :)</p>
<p>What I like a lot about these forms is that as I make marks on the outside with the pencil it creates a negative on the inside of it. Thanks Vicki for the tip. I had to make sure I threw especially thin for these. It made trimming difficult. Hence im now two short ahah.</p>

</a></div>i'm finally getting started on my other work, after weeks of delay. progress on the candy minhwa has inspired me to be a bit more of a free spirit. I'm just gonna make the helmet with spray foam nad carve it, instead of using sheet foam. i can fill inconsistencies with wood filler,  and im painting it, so it should all work out. that makes two works im totally amp'd about! so excited!
