<div><p>The last few pots took a while to dry in the studio so I've just finished trimming, altering, and adding handles to a few of them... might try a wax resist texture on some of them tonight after work at the wexler. Throwing Spree

<div><p>I had a pretty good throwing spree today. I went to the studio to teach the childrens saturday class and decided to stay to throw a little. I ended up throwing ten 1lb balls, seven 1.5lb balls, and three 2lb balls into some simple vessels... I'm excited to trim them and add embelishments. I'm hoping to be part of a woodfire in october so I'm preparing for that... If I keep this up I should have a pretty good variety of things to fire, and hopefully sell on etsy(seeing as my store is empty at the moment 'n' ). Sorry for the crappy picture, my phone has been acting up lately. I used Standards 257 porcelain for this group. Studio Madness

<div><p>Today I not only managed to finish building the walrus but finished the base of the tree. I decorated the vessels I threw the other night with another layer, threw parts for another tree and made a gift for a family member. Im on fire. After Rupauls Drag Race tonight I'll be working on the canopy. <div><p>Today after work ii figured it would be a good idea to throw. I haven't been in the studio as much lately, since I've been working at home, and I really need to get back in the swing of things. Threw 6 small porcelain cups/tumblers, and some bowls. Haven't decided how to decorate the surface yet but I think im gonna have a bit more fun with these. Pink Poppies and Rocking Chairs

Trees: step one

While im enjoying the height of them stacked together, im not liking how column like it is. the top, my favorite part wont be visitble under the canopy, and the stalk isn't very interesting for me, so I think I may keep this as a test peice for glazing, or I may end up just reclaiming it. Im getting better at throwing larger so it wont be so bad to recreate.  Im wanting a stalk that tapers more towards the top, then having a wide bubble form for the canopy to be built onto. I'll be posting progress on the trees as it comes :)<br />

I added pom-poms(hesitantly), rhinestones, and beaded fringe. Im nervous about the pom poms but my felting wool hasn't arrived yet and I was really anxious to get started. I wasn't feeling the colors at first but as I keep working im beginning to warm up to this peice. As I continue im realizing more and more that I need to make 3rd base for this. It just needs another level of rediculousness. More to come on that.<br />

As I tried to attach and throw a coil onto an area that was structurally weak it collapsed. Anywho I managed to save the bottom half and make a fun start shaped bottom for a peice I have yet to think out haha.  Hope this one goes well because I actually like this form,<br /><br>Im planning to rebuild those two peices sometime this week, so hopefully they'll go better this time around.<br />
