I got caught up in travels for family and friends, and in general just haven't adjusted to having another internship. I finally got back to crocheting my leggings, which have transformed into a semi body suit. They are turning out pretty well. I finished the first full leg and the front on top. Now all I have to do is make the second leg and sew the torso peice. The Rise of the Dooman photo shoot looks like it will be really interesting!

While sewing the green stretch velvet leggings I decided it just didn't quite feel right. I liked the material, but as things shaped up for the props I wasnt as convinced by them. I went looking for another fabric in my scrap bins, found rolls of yarn with glitter in them, and ADD took over. I was recently introduced to the work of James Bidgood. I watched his movie <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Pink-Narcissus-VHS-Don-Brooks/dp/6304819730?ie=UTF8&tag=dwknox88&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Pink Narcissus(1971)</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=dwknox88&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=6304819730" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> and was left speechless. It was so visually beautiful and stunning. Its a story revolving around the fantasies of a male prostitute as he encounters suitors. I'm most fascinated by Bidgood's use of kitsch object and patterns in his work. I LOVE the flowers and bedazzled objects.<br />

He has a really good sense of composition and the way he builds the sets, and dresses his models really aids in creating dreamlike scenes and images. He is definitely a big influence as I piece together my new body of work. His photographs and film are beautiful depictions of the male body, and nude. They poetically display all the curves and cuts of the models. They are displayed as both masculine and strong, and effeminate and emotional. They are true portraits of men, displaying the beauty of each model, while carrying the mentality of the models and characters they portray.<br />

The neck and vest for the dooman using a variety of patterned and bright colored fabrics. The neck peice is lightly stuffed to give it some extra shape. The test is made from paper cutouts to give a sense of the shapes and sizes for the wood I need get.<br />

The Candy Minhwa's set will be a 6 foot circle in 7 parts, with a two foot hole in the middle. Creating a 2ft round platform. It will have a tree in the hill and tree in the middle, and surrounded by blue silk roses at the base, to act as the water. Im essentially creating an island. The set itself will act as an installation, titled, "The Road to Rediculous". As rediculousness is circular and tends to lead to itself. It will be some color near magnolia pink, with green rhinestone polkadots. I'm hoping to be more ambitious with the next two sets since the Trip to Your Hear(Birth of a Star) set was a bit more simple. After watching Pink Narcissus by John Bidgood and learning he also built and staged it all in his NYC apartment, I can't help but try to do more :)<br />
