After starting to design tattoos, I decided to invest in a tablet for my PC to help make the process easier. I ended up deciding on Wacom's Bamboo Pen and Touch. I purchased mine on amazon, refurbished, for about 60$ after shipping. It was a great price compared to used ones on ebay, or their lower end pen models going for about 50-60$, used, after shipping. It's smooth, feels just like paper, and the pressure sensitive pen is to die for. The multi-touch aspect, which was just a perk at first, is actually really useful. I can pan and scroll pages, finger paint, open and move folders, and even right click with just a swipe of a finger. I just bought a super cute turtle shaped mouse, but this may replace it. It's sexier anyway. The pen is dual ended, with one side acting as the pen, and the other as the eraser... which blew my mind. Okay so i'm easily impressed and I am a tablet virgin. I'm glad to let the Bamboo Pen and Touch pop my tablet cherry. I messed around for maybe 15 minutes in Photoshop drawing and coloring just to play around. It really mimics the use of an actual pencil, changing the weight of the line based on pressure, and the texture of the pad(which mimics paper) feels totally natural. This is the quick drawing I did. I used a few colors, but mainly black. This is nothing serious... as it says, but seems like a great starting point. Oh, and I used it to write all of this... The Bamboo Pen and Touch gets 5 stars, for being fucking epic.

Here are a few tattoos, I've been commissioned to do. I was asked to do a floral spread representing a family with 11 children. It has 5 types of flowers, representing the 5 girls, and 6 honey bees (the state bug of Arkansas) to represent the Boys. Another was a design for a man with a still-born brother. He wanted him represented by a baby resting with a White Siberian Tiger. And the last is a Shel Silverstein design. The woman wanted a  modified drawing to go on her back, so I took his drawing <i>The Sidewalk Ends</i> and ad it a floating sidewalk.

She liked the drawing but not on her body ha-ha, so here is my redesign. She wanted a more delicate drawing of the blossoms and a bit more brown and pink... I convinced her to up a little bit of the green to help make the pink pop, and this is what I've come up with and re-proposed. Today has been lots of fun... off to bed! Took some early photos, and started editing a bit. This is the wooden heart, with roses, mounted on the silk and vintage fabric, and surrounded by felt dots I cut out. This is just a cropped section of the image, as I don't want to spoil the final unveil. I've been working all day so I had to share at least this much. More coming tomorrow, and hopefully finished photo by the end of the week. I'm loving the glow it has so far, the majority is good lighting with help from a few simple blur and screen filters. Trying to add as many layers of design as possible.

Finally got around to putting the polka dots on the heart prop for Rise of the Dooman. Now I'll be working on the backdrop, using the same blue vintage fabric from Trip to your heart as the main spread but adding on sewn pink hearts. It's turning out well, so i'm going to try to steam through the rest of this before the end of the week. Wish me luck!
